Check out this beautiful vigorous sweet pea mix — most if not all plants will produce edible-podded peas on the snap-to-snow-pea spectrum — from the great folks at Wild Mountain Seeds in Carbondale, Colorado.
Says Casey Piscura: "Over seven seasons of market farming we've developed a pea mix that wows customers and draws people to our early stands. The diverse collection has been selected for its ability to produce late into the heat of the summer, offering a wide harvest window of beautiful, colorful sweet peas. We are now observing plants in the mix that can produce through the heat of our summer if kept well-picked. Incredible beauty and vigor in this mix!"
GROWING TIPS: In early spring direct seed one inch deep in rows 10-14 inches apart. You definitely want to have them grow up a trellis of some kind. Plants could end up 3-4 inches apart in the row.
