Painted Lady' is an absolutely gorgeous bicolor ornamental sweet pea (not to be confused with edible peas!). The white and pink flowers small fantastic — that's why this species is called "sweet." It's an annual vine grown exclusively for its beauty and intense aroma. Developed by Henry Echford, a Scottish plant breeder who became famous across Britain and the wider world in the 1800s for his fabulous sweet peas. Blossoms apparently go from white/rose in the morning to shades of purple by evening. The fragrance is strongest at night.
We got these seeds from Wild Garden Seeds in Philomath, Oregon.
