Duborskian is a short-grained, short-season rice originally from Russia that has become quite popular among northern growers in the United States, especially around the Great Lakes states and in New England. Dusty grew our seeds in Milaca, Minnesota. Being an "upland" rice, this variety does not require flooding. It also has some frost tolerance, which helps seedlings survive late frosts in the spring. Another introduction from the late great Colorado seedkeeper, Anpetu Oihankesni.
