'Chabaud Benigna' is a sweet clove-scented French heirloom carnation featuring 2" frilly white blossoms with a bright crimson-red fringe. The flowers grow on stems reaching 24-30" tall, making this an excellent cut flower. This is a classic carnation just begging for a place in the modern garden. Give it a try!
NOTE: Whole plant is toxic to mammals, so don't eat it or let your pets eat it!
GROWING TIPS: We recommend starting carnations in flats or pots a few weeks before last frost. Sow seeds a quarter-inch below the surface of a good well-draining seed-starting mix. Plant out after true leaves have formed, plants are a few inches tall, and all danger of frost has passed. Space plants at least a foot apart.
