A spectacular complement to the 'Earl Grey' larkspur we also offer, this purple-and-blue-flowered selection is similarly gorgeous, architectural, and beloved by pollinators of all sorts. It's wonderful as a cut flower either fresh and dried. An excellent choice for the rear of an ornamental flower-bed, larkspur reaches four feet tall and bears striking flowers in early summer, sure to be visited by bumblebees, hummingbirds, and swallowtail butterflies.
WARNING: THIS PLANT IS TOXIC (ESPECIALLY THE SEEDS) TO HUMANS, DOGS, HORSES, AND OTHER MAMMALS. DO NOT CONSUME.
Our seed comes from our friend Lesley Juel of Snake River Seed Cooperative in Idaho.
GROWING TIPS: Larkspur is very cold tolerant and may sometimes overwinter in warmer areas, though it is considered an annual. Seed germination rates improve with cold stratification, so sow in fall for best results.
