'Forellenschluss' is an old Austrian heirloom lettuce. The name means “speckled like a trout.” It is splendidly gorgeous Romaine lettuce that is highly splashed in deep red. Great flavor. Holds up nicely in the summer heat. All around winner!
GROWING TIPS: If direct sowing, plants should end up 10 inches apart (plant however densely you want, accordingly). Plant at a 1/4 inch depth. Or transplant in healthy plant starts 10 inches apart.
