This grex (freely interbreeding mix) is an adventure in bok choi, displaying an awesome range of types: frilly, mustard-like leaves with choi stems, non-heading napas, classic full size bok choi, shanghai-type minis, and everything in between. Dylan Bruce of Circadian Organics in southwest Wisconsin was gifted a bok choi grex made by Joseph Lofthouse at the 2018 Organic Seed Growers Conference in Oregon. This is the next generation, and the incredible diversity found in here makes it an excellent choice for homesteaders, market gardeners, and aspiring plant breeders alike. The diverse types and forms here mean you'll likely find success whether you plant it as a spring or fall crop.
This variety carries the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI) pledge, which states: “You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, you pledge not to restrict other's use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.” More information on OSSI can be found at osseeds.org.
