These seeds are a special collection identified by Chris Homanics because they come from female trees growing near to a male tree that is sending up suckers (or spreading by root). We're unsure of the genetics behind this trait and its possible heritability, but there are reports of colony-forming trees in the wild in Chile. We expect at least a portion of these seedlings will sucker. Chris intends to continue looking for colony-forming female trees, with the hopes of bringing the two together someday (such as by grafting each and planting the clones side by side). In the meantime, we are offering these LIMITED RELEASE seeds to get these genetics out there.
