'Early Perfect Italian' is a new favorite among pepper eaters, chefs, and growers. An Italian-style fryer pepper, it was bred by the great Frank Morton of Wild Garden Seeds, specifically for its fantastic flavor. The long and slender fruit make for great roasting peppers. Most importantly, it yields loads of fruit on tall plants. If you get them in the ground early enough, they might even need a trellis. Can be eaten both as green and red peppers. This variety carries the Open Source Seed Initiative Pledge (see www.osseeds.org for more information). Seeds were grown by Clint Freund and Kass McKinnon of Cultivating the Commons outside Madison, Wisconsin.
GROWING TIPS: Start seeds indoors in March. After danger of frost transplant to garden with 16-18 inches between plants.
