'Simpson' is an extremely productive heirloom okra from a Rogersville, Tennessee, family of that name. It has been grown since at least the 1940s. Simpson's spineless pods are tasty, medium-sized, straight, and light green in color (similar to the market-standard 'Clemson Spineless', though said to handle wet weather better). Pods grow on productive medium-sized well-branched plants.
We first learned about this variety from our friend Edmund Frost of Common Wealth Seed Growers. These seeds were grown by our friends Cody Egan and Dylan Bruce of Driftless Seed Supply in Wisconsin.
