Rosso di Lucca' is a beloved heirloom bush bean from the city of Lucca in Tuscany (Italy). The seeds have a gorgeous rosy-pink color with sparse dark maroon dappling (and, as happens with many dappled beans, occasionally the reverse shows up sometimes too). The large beans, similar in size and shape to kidney beans, have a creamy texture & rich flavor. Try it in Pasta e Fagioli! Easy to direct seed.
This seed comes from our friend Hank Keogh of Avoca Seed Farm near Corvallis, Oregon
GROWING TIPS: Direct sow once soil begins to warm in the spring (when you might plant sweetcorn). This is a bush type bean, so it needs no trellis. Space plants 8-12 inches apart.
