For several years now we have been thrilled to offer at least a few varieties from the talented organic vegetable breeder and seed saver Edmund Frost, of Common Wealth Seeds in Virginia.
From Edmund:
"A red bell pepper that is consistently sweet and citrusy, but not at the expense of productivity, appearance, keeping quality or size. Twin Oaks Seed Farm has been selecting stock seed for several years with noticeable improvement for our conditions. This variety has been around for a long time so there is variation between the different strains out there. Our seedstock came from Baker Creek in 2010. This is the best-tasting red bell pepper we have found. It also holds up very well in the field until full ripeness. Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm."
Edmund stresses this is a great variety, but may need just a little longer season than peppers that have undergone selection farther north.
