'Allies' is a composite population (or "grex") of multiple modern sweet corn hybrids begun eight years ago and developed as part of a project with several Tribal colleges. Our seed comes from Professor Frank Kutka of the College of Menominee Nation. The name is indeed the plural of "ally", in recognition of the cross-cultural collaboration at its root. As Frank stresses, "It was a group project." This is a great population for anyone intersted in adapting a sweet corn for your climate, especially if you live in the north.
