Sugarlode is a tremendously productive snap pea (whole pods edible) apparently bred for biodynamic farming. Grown in a patch, the plants need no trellis and support themselves to a height up to 3ft. They can alse be grown in rows and treated like a bush bean. This is a great plant for tasty pea shoots or edible flowers and tendrils too, but of course the main event is the sweet and juicy pods. Yum! Our seed was grown by Cass McKinnon and Clint Freund in Wisconsin.
NOTE: We don't have a good photo of these peas, so the photo shows some other random snap peas.
GROWING TIPS: Direct seed an inch deep. Plants could be 2-4 inches apart. We recommend direct-seeding, but it is also possible to transplant pea plants.
