A diverse collection of dry, bush beans selected for their ability to produce viable seed in the very short Zone 3 growing season of Wild Mountain Seeds at 6400’ in the Rocky Mountains. Most of the population comes from Joseph Lofthouse selections, further selected by Casey Piscura at Wild Mountain. These dry beans ripen uniformly making for easy harvest. The collection cooks very well together and is a favorite for all bean dishes. A great homesteading seed for farmers and gardeners who want dry beans in a short climate. We recommend planting two to three weeks before your last frost date.
GROWING TIPS: Direct seed after danger of last frost. Rows could be a 12-16 inches apart, plants could be 6-10 inches apart. Harvest in waves as pods dry, or pull entire plants when most of the pods are dry, all the while watching the amount of rainfall as heavy rains can mess with drying pods.
