A beautiful woodland native with arching stems and delicate bell-shaped blooms in early spring. Valuable as a native landscaping plant that can form glades in the woods, or woodland edge, over time. Also of use as a dry tolerant shade plant. The roots are starchy and edible, and young shoots can be used as an asparagus green. Medicinally, it has been used for lung and skin issues, and inflammation regulation in musculoskeletal problems.
