A forage legume, similar to alfalfa, and great soil improver for marginal croplands. Cover crop and cut back high to encourage tap root growth in compacted or degraded soils. Suitable in a forage mix for deer, elk, cattle, and sheep. Can be cut as hay. Winter hardy and drought tolerant. High protein, nitrogen fixer.
