Very similar to its relative Wild Senna, Maryland Senna is a shrubby native legume with striking yellow blooms in the mid to late summer months. Attractive double-compound leaves give the foliage a feathery appearance. Not a tricky or picky plant to grow. It is host to pollinators and butterflies, and the seeds feed wildlife in the winter. Use it in a naturalistic pollinator garden towards the back, as it can get quite large and fill in the place of a woody shrub. Upright and sturdy, no staking required here.
4+'h. Medium Soil. Full-Part Sun. Yellow bloom July, Aug.
