Our friends at Adaptive Seeds took a commercial bok choi hybrid and began saving the seeds a few generations ago. They released seeds under the name "Luck Dragon", though they are continuing the de-hybridization process. Clint Freund and Kass McKinnon got seeds from Adaptive and grew them out in Wisconsin. You can expect some diversity in this population, but most of the plants will provide more or less the same tasty green bok choys with fleshy-stemmed leaves that are starting to become popular in American markets (though have been popular in Asian-American markets for many years). Bok choi is great for stir-fries, fresh eating, or fermenting.
GROWING TIPS: Can direct seed or transplant in early spring. Plants should end up 5-8 inches apart in rows 10 inches apart.
