30 PACK of 0.5 to 1 inch diameter Hazelwood Stakes (6-7 feet in length or more)
Expert hazelnut researchers recommend that bushes be coppiced every 10 years. Coppice is when a bush is cut to the ground so it can grow back fresh from the roots. Hazelnut produces beautiful, long, straight, skinny, hard stems that are great for building garden trellises with. Hazel stems can also be used to build wattle-style fencing.
These stakes are 6-7 feet minimum in length, or more (there is some variance in each bundle).
These are 0.5 inch to one inch diameter stakes, and are best suited for pea or bean trellises, or other comparable plants in terms of weight, and are easier to weave (for wattle-style fencing) than stakes with a thicker diameter.
All of our stakes are untreated.
